The Trish Bartlett resources are a very useful starting point for the programming of any RE unit of work. Each unit systematically covers the outcomes of the Secondary Religious Education Curriculum of the Archdiocese of Sydney and/or the Board of Studies Studies of Religion Syllabus. All units present an explicit content outline of the work to be addressed. There is also a clear connection made between outcomes, teaching / learning and assessment strategies. Units are well referenced with a wide range of hard and electronic resources. The lesson plans are beautifully complemented with a chronological set of overheads and user friendly worksheets that assist in keeping students on task. There is also a topic test (with answers) for most units presented.
Over the years, Trish's resources have evolved from black and white to colour, and from booklet to CD ROM which allows seamless modification for the individual programming needs of schools. Trish continues to re-invent herself with an ever growing, ready to use set of resources such as Survival Kits, Lenten/Easter Kits, Advent/Christmas Kits, Journey to the Sacred and of course the bread and butter Stage 4-6 Lesson Plans. I eagerly look forward to her upcoming website! What characterises any Trish Bartlett resource is the constant striving towards quality teaching and learning and the uncompromising attention to detail.
