Reason is using one's faculties, particularly the mind and will, in the pursuit of truth. Faith is both a gift of God and a human act by which the believer gives personal adherence to God. “Catholics believe that faith and reason are not incompatible, but rather one informs the other. Human reason enables us to understand what is moral and to make good moral judgments, but this is not enough. Faith plays an essential role and “informs” our reason.”
